Located on the banks of the beautiful Mangawhero River Kākātahi School offers the best of rural learning. With a roll of approximately 9 children, daily learning integrates localised knowledge and resources thus providing a curriculum that embraces Education Outside the Classroom and child agency. We are a Bronze Enviroschool with sustainable practices underpinning all learning, strive to strengthen individual student identity, and we love to have fun!

Ideally situated half way between Whanganui and Raetihi, Kākātahi School values the development of life skills and collaborative learning. Children participate in swimming lessons in our school pool during terms 1 and 4 and we actively participate in interschool events throughout the Ruapehu and Whanganui areas.
